We are happy you stopped by.  You're invited to

enjoy my site and the paintings shown here.

As a teacher and artist it is my pleasure to explore and

express my artistic side with paper, canvas, brush and

paint. I enjoy sharing my knowledge  with my students

with the hope that they will appreciate their own talents

and skills and that they will benefit from a life with art as

much as I do.

I feel equally comfortable working in watercolor

and oil.  Although I like a variety of subjects, my passion

is the landscape.  Nature offers an unlimited choice of colors,

shapes, textures and lighting.  I need to feel something

about the subject, a collection of darks and lights, or a

special feeling of atmosphere...perhaps even a certain

recollection of a time or a particular place.
Cletus Smith is a native Oklahoman with an art degree

from Oklahoma City University.  He has been a graphic

designer, illustrator, industrial designer and a

Cletus taught painting at the University of Central Oklahoma

for 18 years and currently teaches private classes at his

Oklahoma City art studio.  He regularly conducts lecture

demonstrations, workshops and has judged numerous

art shows throughout the southwest.

Numerous awards and recognitions have been given

to Cletus for his paintings and his work as an instructor.

His work is also included in the State of Oklahoma Art

Collection.  He is represented by galleries in Oklahoma,
